Kerala Association of Surgical Oncologists (KASO) conducted it's mid term conference on 18th August 2019 at Sree Gokulam Medical College and Research foundation, Venjaramoodu, Trivandrum, Kerala. The meeting was headed by Dr. Ansar P P, Head & Senior Consultant, Surgical Oncology, Sree Gokulam Medical College. The meeting was attended by near hundred oncology fraternity and Medical post-graduate students from all over the state. Dr. Lista Paul, Resident, MVR Cancer Center won the best paper awards of the Rs 15000 and certificate.
 
The program was inaugurated by Dr. Chandramohan, DEAN, Sree Gokulam Medical College. Dr. Boben Thomas, Medical Oncologist, GG hospital, Dr. Abdul Latheef, President ASI (Trivandrum chapter), Dr. Dayanadha Babu, Professor Emiritus, Sree Gokulam Medical College and Dr Rakul Nambiar, Medical Oncologist, Sree Gokulam Medical college presided the function.
Twenty different topics covering the surgical, medical and radiation therapy of upper gastrointestinal malignancies were discussed and Video demonstration of surgical techniques of four major surgeries of upper gastrointestinal cancer was also done.
